Civitas stands at the center above the Boise Basque cross, honoring a community that preserved its cultural identity while contributing to Idaho’s growth. The Boise Mountains, sheep, the Idaho State Capitol, and the Basque Museum and Cultural Center reflect the history and lasting influence of Basque immigrants in the region. Inscribed below is the Basque principle: “Denon artean egina, erraz egina.” — What is done together is done easily.
